As a Cabin Systems and Avionics Layout Engineer at Schmitt Engineering, you will be responsible for the technical design and hardware layout of critical aerospace components. Your daily activities will involve creating sophisticated hardware layouts for business lines focusing on cabin systems and avionics, ensuring all designs adhere to technical, normative, and manufacturing requirements. A significant portion of the role involves PCB design following IPC-2221 Class 3 standards and collaborating closely with hardware and mechanical development teams to ensure integrated system designs. You will play a vital role in reviews, design approvals, and technical documentation while coordinating with production and suppliers to ensure manufacturability. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in layout creation, specifically PCB design and system layouts
  • Practical experience using CAD/EDA tools, preferably Cadence Allegro
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards and norms such as IPC-2221
  • Experience working within interdisciplinary and cross-site project teams
  • Experience in ensuring manufacturability in collaboration with production and suppliers
