Job Summary

As an Environmental Engineer within the Water Team for the Pinneberg district, you will play a vital role in protecting water resources and managing surface water systems. Your daily responsibilities include reviewing technical applications for rainwater and groundwater discharge, providing expert opinions on urban planning and construction projects, and advising municipalities and citizens on water management issues. You will also be responsible for managing environmental accidents and implementing emergency hazard prevention measures. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma/Master) in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or Geography with a focus on Water Management; or a comparable degree with equivalent skills.

Experience

  • Professional experience in water management engineering tasks
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience if holding a non-specialized degree
  • Experience in evaluating technical applications for water discharge and retention systems
  • Experience in providing expert statements for urban and regional planning (B-Plans/F-Plans)

Languages

German (Intermediate)

Additional

  • Driving license class B required. Must be willing to participate in the environmental department's on-call standby rotation. Work permit for Germany required.
