Job Summary

This role at the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL) involves co-managing a laboratory unit in Bad Kissingen dedicated to the analysis and evaluation of consumer products, including cosmetics, tobacco, and non-food items. You will be responsible for overseeing chemical, physical, and sensory testing, drafting expert legal opinions, and ensuring compliance with GMP and quality assurance standards. Beyond laboratory management, you will provide technical advice to local authorities, participate in manufacturer inspections, and contribute to the training of students and junior staff. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of consumer protection and scientific research within a multidisciplinary team. The role is initially offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract with the benefits of the German public service (TV-L), including flexible working hours and mobile work options.
