Job Summary

The Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority (LGL) is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join their molecular biology and genetic engineering department in Oberschleißheim. In this role, you will perform essential molecular biological analysis on food and feed, including the detection and quantification of genetic modifications. Your daily responsibilities will involve sample logistics, preparation, DNA isolation, and the operation of advanced laboratory equipment such as PCR thermocyclers and pipetting robots. You will also manage data within the LIMS, contribute to the laboratory's quality management system, and support the training of interns. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MTLA), Veterinary Laboratory Technician (MTA-V), Chemical Laboratory Technician, or a comparable technical assistant qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in molecular biology or genetic engineering is considered a significant advantage.
  • Experience in laboratory documentation and quality management processes.
  • Experience in handling complex laboratory instrumentation and sample preparation workflows.

Additional

  • Must possess a minimum of B2 level German proficiency. This is a fixed-term contract until February 29, 2028, under the TV-L collective agreement. The role requires high levels of initiative, reliability, and organizational skills. Applicants must be legally permitted to work in Germany.
