Job Summary
This role involves serving as the Lead Officer for Crypto and Security Management within the Berlin Police's Information and Communication Technology directorate. You will be responsible for implementing BSI IT-Grundschutz standards, ensuring compliance with state secrecy and sabotage protection regulations, and managing security incidents related to the Digital Radio for Authorities and Organizations with Security Tasks (BOS). A key aspect of the position is representing the State of Berlin in federal committees and strategically managing cryptographic resources for all local users. You will also collaborate with other departments to ensure the physical security of radio sites and keep staff informed about emerging IT security threats. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in IT Security, Computer Science, Communications Engineering, Telematics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a comparable field of study.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT security and information technology systems
- Experience in planning and creating security concepts and risk analyses
- Experience in committee work between federal and state levels is desirable
- Experience with Digital Radio BOS (Public Safety Communication) systems is an advantage
- Experience in managing cryptographic resources and security incidents

- Must be able to pass a Level 2 Security Clearance (SÜ 2) according to the Security Screening Act (BSÜG). Mandatory C1 German certificate required for non-native speakers. Willingness to travel occasionally within Germany for meetings and conferences.
