Job Summary

The University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a W2 Professorship in Electrical Power Engineering within the Department of Electrical Engineering and Informatics. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching and conducting interdisciplinary research at the Emden campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing core subjects in electrical engineering, with a specific focus on power systems, grid stability, and energy generation. Beyond classroom instruction, you will actively develop your own research priorities, contribute to academic self-administration, and collaborate with internal and external partners. Required Skills

Education

University degree and a doctorate (PhD) in an engineering field with a strong focus on electrical engineering, specifically power engineering or renewable energy.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional practice required
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience outside of the university sector in relevant companies
  • Proven experience in electrical power grids, transmission methods, and grid stability
  • Demonstrated experience in pedagogical and didactic teaching
  • Experience in Smart Grids and energy storage technologies is highly desirable
