Job Summary

This role involves working within the State Criminal Police Office of Lower Saxony (LKA NI) to design, develop, and test automated software solutions for law enforcement. You will be part of the 'Data Solutions' unit, focusing on creating agile, cloud-native applications that process massive amounts of structured and unstructured data, such as image, video, and text analysis using AI and language models. Day-to-day, you will evaluate existing software approaches, develop holistic automation concepts for routine police tasks, and integrate specialized police applications into automated workflows. The position is unique as it offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of high-tech software engineering and public safety, utilizing modern technologies like containers and microservices to enhance the efficiency of criminal investigations. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed university degree (Master's or Diploma) in an IT-related field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a comparable discipline.

Experience

  • Several years of project-oriented experience in programming and scripting languages.
  • Professional experience in software development processes and release management.
  • Proven experience with microservice architectures and web infrastructure (Load Balancers, Web Servers).
  • Practical experience with containerization tools like Docker and version control using Git.
  • Experience in automation technologies is highly desirable.
