As a Payroll Specialist for the Central Payroll Office of the Diocese of Speyer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll processing for a defined group of approximately 6,500 employees. Your daily activities include maintaining digital personnel master data, calculating sick pay, and ensuring compliance with tax and social security regulations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding all payroll-related inquiries and handle communication with external authorities such as health insurance providers and social security agencies. Required Skills

Education

Completed commercial vocational training (e.g., Social Security Specialist, Tax Assistant, or Office Management) ideally supplemented by further certification in Payroll.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in payroll accounting or payroll services
  • Proven experience in handling social security and wage tax regulations
  • Experience in communicating with health insurance and social security authorities
  • Experience working within a structured and detail-oriented administrative environment
