Job Summary

As a Scientific Solution Architect at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), you will play a pivotal role in the 'MEDAL' project, an international initiative funded by the Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung. Your primary mission is to design and shape the technical architecture for a next-generation benchmarking platform for medical imaging AI. This involves conceptualizing secure data submission workflows for sensitive medical data, defining evaluation platforms for model execution, and translating complex scientific, regulatory, and ethical requirements into robust system designs. You will act as a critical technical bridge between researchers, clinicians, and legal experts. This position is particularly attractive for those who want to apply high-level systems architecture skills to a mission-driven project aimed at realigning AI development with urgent clinical needs. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in solution architecture, systems architecture, or a senior technical role
  • Experience in secure systems design and data protection principles
  • Experience with medical data, AI infrastructures, or regulated environments is advantageous
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in implementation planning and technical development
