Job Summary
As the Head of Vocational Training for the City of Mainz, you will lead the development and management of the next generation of professionals within the municipal administration. Your primary focus will be on managing trainees in the fields of social education and childcare assistance. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling personnel administration for trainees, spearheading recruitment initiatives for young talent, and designing innovative training concepts. You will also oversee various training projects and ensure high-quality educational standards across diverse sectors such as administration, social work, and IT. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Social Sciences, completion of Administrative Training II (Verwaltungslehrgang II), or qualification for the A 11 civil service grade in Administration and Finance. Instructor Aptitude Certification (AdA-Schein) is required or must be obtained.
Experience
- Professional experience in the social sector, preferably in daycare centers or early childhood education
- Experience in personnel administration or human resources management
- Experience in developing training concepts and managing educational projects
- Experience working within the German public service framework (TVöD/LBesO) is highly desirable

Additional
- Must be eligible for German public service pay grades (A 11 LBesO, EG 10 TVöD, or S 16 TVöD). Location-based in Mainz with mobile work options. Application deadline is March 31, 2026.
