Job Summary

As a Senior Planning Engineer at DB Engineering & Consulting, you will play a pivotal role in designing Germany's future rail infrastructure. You will independently manage complex planning services for control and signaling technology (LST), covering the entire project lifecycle from initial concept to operator handover. Your daily responsibilities include creating technical specifications, tender documents, and detailed designs for interlocking systems (ESTW, DSTW), train protection systems (ETCS, PZB), and level crossing safety systems. Beyond technical design, you will lead project teams to ensure cost, schedule, and quality compliance while mentoring junior engineers and dual students. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile infrastructure projects for the national rail network and S-Bahn systems in Berlin, Cottbus, or Schwerin. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/Master/Diploma) in Control and Signaling Technology, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the planning of control and signaling technology (LST)
  • Extensive experience with interlocking systems (ESTW, DSTW) and train protection systems (ETCS, PZB)
  • Proven track record in managing complex railway infrastructure projects
  • Experience in leading and coordinating project teams
  • Experience in creating technical specifications and tender documentation
  • Experience in internal quality inspection and mentoring junior staff
