Job Summary

This role involves working at the forefront of genetic diagnostics within the amedes group in Hannover. As a Scientific Associate, you will be responsible for the day-to-day generation of medical reports in molecular (hemato-)oncology and somatic genetics, directly influencing individual patient therapy plans. Your work will center on evaluating Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data and liquid biopsy results using advanced laboratory information systems and specialized databases. Beyond routine diagnostics, you will play a key role in optimizing analysis pipelines and developing new analytical methods to expand the diagnostic portfolio. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented scientist who thrives in a quality-controlled environment (ISO 9001/DIN ISO 15189) and values collaborative, patient-centered work. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Biology or a comparable natural science field; a PhD (Promotion) is welcomed but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Practical experience with molecular biological and genetic procedures, specifically NGS
  • Hands-on experience processing peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Experience in evaluating somatic variants according to WHO and Tier classifications
  • Proven experience in drafting diagnostic reports considering therapeutic options
  • Familiarity with genetic databases and somatic variant analysis pipelines
