Job Summary

This full-time, permanent position based in Hannover offers a vital role within the amedes Group, focusing on the intersection of research and clinical diagnostics. As a Scientific Associate, you will be responsible for the creation of medical reports in molecular hemato-oncology and somatic genetics, directly influencing individual patient therapy plans. Your day-to-day work involves utilizing cutting-edge Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology and liquid biopsy analysis to evaluate somatic variants. You will actively optimize diagnostic pipelines and develop new analytical methods to expand the laboratory's portfolio. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented scientist who thrives in a quality-controlled environment (ISO 15189) and enjoys working with specialized IT systems like GePaDo, MOLIS, and Varvis. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Biology or a comparable natural science field; a PhD is welcomed but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Professional experience in hemato-oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Extensive experience with molecular biological and genetic procedures, specifically NGS
  • Practical experience handling peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Proven ability to evaluate somatic variants according to WHO and Tier classifications
  • Experience in creating diagnostic reports considering therapeutic options is preferred
  • Familiarity with genetic databases and analysis pipelines for somatic variants
