Job Summary

As an Electrical Engineer at BLB NRW, you will play a pivotal role in managing one of Europe's largest real estate portfolios for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve working within interdisciplinary project teams to deliver planning services according to HOAI standards, conducting feasibility studies, and overseeing the selection and contract management of external service providers. You will act as a key technical advisor for branch management on electrical safety issues and take on quality control for external engineering firms. This position is unique for its contribution to the state's goal of climate neutrality by 2030, offering a stable public-sector career with significant flexibility. You will have the opportunity to undergo specialized training to become a Responsible Qualified Electrician (VEFK) according to DIN VDE 1000-10, ensuring high safety standards across diverse and complex state-owned construction projects.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma/Bachelor/Master) in Electrical Engineering, Supply Engineering, Technical Facility Management, or a related field; OR a qualification as a State-Certified Technician or Master Craftsman in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the real estate or property management sector
  • For candidates with a Technician or Master Craftsman certificate: At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in an engineering-level role
  • Experience in managing external engineering firms and construction companies
  • Professional experience in planning and executing electrical systems for buildings
