Job Summary

As an IT Systems Engineer at VARTA, you will play a critical role in managing and evolving the company's core infrastructure at their Ellwangen location. Your daily responsibilities include the administration and development of storage, backup, and VMware environments, alongside the installation and management of both Windows and Linux servers. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of these systems—from conceptual design and implementation to updates and migrations. Beyond technical maintenance, you will act as a direct contact for specialized departments, provide second-level support, and contribute to international IT infrastructure projects. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Computer Science, completed vocational training with professional experience, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the design, support, and implementation of virtualization solutions, specifically VMware vSphere.
  • Proven experience in managing backup solutions such as Veeam, IBM Spectrum Protect, or EMC Networker.
  • Technical expertise in the installation, migration, and operation of storage systems including NetApp and Dell EMC.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Participation in international IT infrastructure projects and project management methodologies.
