Job Summary
As a Quality Chemist at VARTA's Ellwangen location, you will play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational management of the chemical laboratory for advanced battery systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities include organizing test planning, conducting incoming goods and production inspections, and developing and validating complex analytical methods. You will be responsible for maintaining critical documentation such as hazardous substance registers and operating instructions while coordinating laboratory staff and trainees. This role is highly collaborative, requiring you to act as a technical consultant for internal departments like R&D and purchasing, as well as external suppliers. Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree in Chemistry; ideally supplemented by a certification as a Quality Officer (Qualitätsbeauftragter).
Experience
- Several years of relevant professional experience in the field of chemical analytics
- Proven experience in quality improvement techniques and analytical chemistry
- Practical experience with ICP-MS, ICP-OES, gas chromatography, and ion chromatography
- Experience in battery-specific analytics is required
- Experience in instructing employees, interns, or external service providers
- Experience in documentation management including work instructions and risk assessments
