Job Summary

This role focuses on the maintenance and continuous development of specialized engineering tools within the Safety Instrumentation and Control (I&C) division. Based in Erlangen, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing tools built on MS Access and MS Visio using VBA. Key day-to-day activities include creating functional and technical specifications, maintaining comprehensive developer and user documentation, and providing direct project support and training to end-users. This position is particularly attractive due to its stable permanent contract, a 35-hour work week, and excellent long-term career prospects with a high chance of permanent takeover by the client. It offers a unique blend of hardware design understanding and software tool development, making it ideal for engineers who enjoy optimizing technical workflows and programming within an industrial safety context.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree with a focus on Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in creating and reviewing functional and technical specifications (Lastenhefte/Pflichtenhefte)
  • Proven experience in high-level programming and database management
  • Experience in documenting programming results and commenting source code
  • Practical experience in tool development and user support
  • Foundational understanding of hardware design, ideally within the TXS platform environment
