Job Summary

The German Diabetes Center (DDZ) is seeking a highly motivated PhD Student to join the Institute for Clinical Biochemistry and Pathobiochemistry. In this role, you will contribute to a cutting-edge precision medicine project focused on insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Your daily responsibilities will include performing statistical analyses and visualizations of (phospho-)proteomics and clinical datasets, as well as refining existing data analysis pipelines for pathway mapping and donor profiling. You will work within an international team to identify regulatory nodes within insulin-signaling networks. This position is ideal for a life sciences graduate looking to transition into computational biology. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Biology, Biochemistry, Medicine, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in life sciences, specifically cell biology or protein biochemistry
  • Basic experience in programming and computational data analysis
  • Experience in analyzing large-scale omics or clinical datasets is preferred
  • Experience with data cleaning and preprocessing is desirable
