Job Summary

As the Team Lead for Bridge Modernization, you will spearhead one of Germany's most ambitious infrastructure programs, overseeing the renewal and future-proofing of critical bridge structures across the federal highway network. Your daily responsibilities involve the disciplinary and technical leadership of a dedicated project management team, where you will foster professional development and refine organizational standards and processes. You will act as a central coordinator between internal departments, engineering firms, and external partners, ensuring the successful execution of complex construction phases. A key part of this role involves stakeholder management, communicating with public authorities and political actors to ensure project alignment. This position is particularly attractive for experienced engineers looking to combine technical expertise in bridge construction with high-level leadership and strategic process development, including the implementation of innovative methodologies like Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or University Diploma (Dipl.-Ing. Univ.) in Civil Engineering with a focus on Road Planning, or equivalent professional experience/qualifications.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in project management for infrastructure, bridge, or civil engineering projects across relevant performance phases
  • Several years of project-related technical leadership experience
  • Experience in managing external partners, engineering offices, and cross-functional departments
  • Desirable: Experience in dealing with government authorities and public administration
  • Desirable: Proven experience with BIM methodologies and digital innovation

Additional

  • Willingness to undergo in-depth training on specific German infrastructure regulations (FstrG, RAA, StraKR, VgV). Project management certifications (GPM/IPMA/PMI) are considered an advantage but not mandatory. This is a full-time, permanent position (unbefristet).
