Job Summary

This academic position at the University of Münster's Institute of Computer Science offers a unique opportunity to join the newly established 'Secure Intelligent Distributed Systems' research group. As a Postdoctoral Researcher (Academic Councilor on a temporary basis), you will engage in high-level research focused on machine learning security, automated IT security risk management, and privacy-enhancing technologies. Your daily responsibilities include publishing in prestigious journals, securing third-party funding, and teaching four hours per week. You will also mentor students on their projects and theses while contributing to academic self-administration. This role is specifically designed to support your further scientific qualification, such as working toward a Habilitation. The position is initially for three years, with a potential three-year extension, set within the vibrant and high-quality living environment of Münster.

Required Skills

Education

University degree and a completed Doctorate (PhD) in Computer Science or a closely related field.

Experience

  • Completed PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field is mandatory before starting the position
  • Significant and relevant research experience evidenced by publications in renowned scientific journals or conferences
  • Experience in acquiring and managing third-party funded research projects is preferred
  • Previous experience in university-level teaching and didactic instruction is an advantage
  • Proven track record of analytical thinking and systematic working methods in a research environment
