Job Summary

As a Commissioning Engineer for High-Voltage Switchgear, you will play a critical role in the final quality assurance phase for Siemens Energy's grid technology projects. Your daily responsibilities include conducting safety briefings, coordinating with site managers, and performing functional tests on primary equipment. You will be responsible for integrating Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) into control systems and executing complex high-voltage tests. This role acts as the technical bridge between the manufacturer and the client, requiring you to troubleshoot technical issues alongside development departments and provide training to client personnel. What makes this position unique is the blend of hands-on field work and strategic project involvement, offering deep exposure to the energy transition through HVDC, grid stabilization, and decarbonization technologies. You will work in a highly international environment, ensuring that power systems meet rigorous quality standards and global norms before being energized.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on Power Engineering or Automation Technology.

Experience

  • Initial professional experience in commissioning or high-voltage technology is desirable
  • Experience in the integration of components such as batteries, auxiliary power supplies, and transformers
  • Experience in analyzing and resolving technical problems in collaboration with development departments
  • Professional experience in reporting to project management and engineering departments
