Job Summary
As an AI Data Engineer at SAP, you will play a pivotal role in developing the SAP-RPT model family, one of the few leading foundation models of European origin. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve building and scaling technical foundations, designing end-to-end data pipelines, and executing complex data extractions to curate high-value datasets for foundation model research. You will bridge the gap between raw enterprise data and advanced AI research by cleaning, enriching, and analyzing data from various sources, including SAP S/4HANA. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close partnership with domain experts and data scientists to ensure models are accurately tailored to enterprise data structures. Required Skills
Education
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or other relevant disciplines.
Experience
- 2+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related technical field
- Professional experience with Python and SQL in a software engineering context
- Professional experience with SAP S/4HANA data models and backend structures
- Experience in handling large-scale data volumes (>1M files) is preferred
- Experience in cross-cultural team collaboration and coordination
