Job Summary

As an IT Systems Engineer specializing in Hospital Information Systems (HIS), you will play a critical role in the digital transformation of the German Armed Forces' medical facilities. Based in Hamburg, your daily responsibilities involve the configuration, administration, and optimization of clinical software to ensure high performance and reliability. You will act as a key technical liaison, supporting clinical staff with application queries and troubleshooting system errors. A significant portion of the role involves technical implementation, including data analysis via Oracle SQL and customizing system environments using web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This position is unique as it combines healthcare technology with national security infrastructure, offering the chance to work on large-scale, complex IT environments. You will also oversee the integration of medical devices and subsystems using international communication standards like HL7, ensuring compliance with medical device regulations while contributing to the overall operational readiness of the military's healthcare services.

Required Skills

Education

Completed IT vocational training or a University degree in Information Technology or a related field.

Experience

  • Approximately 3 years of relevant professional experience in IT systems engineering
  • Professional experience with hospital-specific workflows and clinical IT systems
  • Proven experience in Oracle database administration and SQL querying
  • Experience with medical communication standards such as HL7 is highly preferred
  • Experience in technical implementation using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
