Job Summary
As a Heat Exchanger Engineer at FERCHAU, you will be responsible for the independent design, specification, and processing of various heat exchangers and thermal apparatuses used in large-scale industrial heat pump process cycles. Your daily activities involve defining optimized solutions for refrigerant circuits, focusing specifically on mechanical vessel design and dimensioning components according to international standards. You will bridge the gap between technical design and procurement by coordinating with external suppliers, supporting sales during customer consultations, and evaluating supplier bids. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close internal coordination and technical leadership during negotiations. Beyond the design phase, you will provide critical support during the commissioning of heat exchangers and participate in process analysis and optimization. This position is ideal for an engineer looking to apply deep technical expertise in power plant technology or process engineering within a forward-thinking environment that offers professional development and active involvement in shaping future technologies.
Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in Energy and Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Apparatus Engineering, ideally with a focus on heat exchangers.
Experience
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the design, specification, planning, and processing of thermal apparatuses and vessels
- Extensive experience with static equipment in a professional engineering context
- Proven experience in the application of international norms and guidelines for pressure equipment
- Experience in technical coordination of external suppliers and technical sales support
- Professional background in power plant technology is highly preferred

Additional
- The role requires the ability to work independently and take high personal responsibility. Must be able to perform technical negotiations and lead supplier qualifications. Location-based role in Germany as part of the FERCHAU engineering team.
