Job Summary
This role is situated within the North Rhine-Westphalia State Office for Health and Occupational Safety (LfGA NRW) in the 'Healthcare Data' department. As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in supporting the Ministry of Labour, Health, and Social Affairs by analyzing hospital care data and developing planning instruments. Your daily activities will involve the processing, quality control, and statistical analysis of primary and secondary healthcare data, specifically focusing on hospital remuneration data (§ 21 KHEntgG). You will collaborate with IT teams to enhance database systems and create data visualizations for dashboards to support strategic decision-making. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Medical Documentation, Medical Informatics, Business Informatics, Information Management, Health Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science.
Experience
- Professional experience in data analysis and statistical evaluation of primary and secondary data
- Practical experience in the application of relational database systems and SQL
- Experience with informative data visualization and dashboard creation
- Professional knowledge of the German healthcare system, its structures, and key stakeholders
- Experience in interdisciplinary cooperation and ideally within public administration
- Experience in medical documentation or health informatics
