Job Summary

As a Vocational Instructor at the Kiel Naval Arsenal, you will lead and mentor a group of up to 14 apprentices in the field of electronics for devices and systems. Your daily responsibilities involve delivering both theoretical and practical instruction in accordance with the Vocational Training Act, designing project-based assignments, and evaluating student performance. You will be responsible for material planning, maintaining workshop equipment, and providing supplementary lessons to support vocational school curricula. Beyond the classroom, you will supervise apprentices during external seminars, attend career fairs, and ensure compliance with occupational safety and youth labor protection laws. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who enjoys shaping the next generation of technical experts within a stable, public service environment. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems or a related field (Electrical, Information, or Communication Technology). Instructor Aptitude Certification (AdA-Schein) is required or must be obtained.

Experience

  • Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems or a related field in electrical/information technology
  • At least 2 years of professional experience as an instructor or trainer
  • Experience in control and regulation technology is desired
  • Experience with the C programming language or Arduino IDE is preferred
  • Experience in managing apprentices and promoting gender equality is desired

Additional

  • Must demonstrate commitment to the free democratic basic order of the German Constitution. Participation in a pre-employment medical examination is mandatory. Willingness to travel for multi-day seminars and career fairs is required. Certified German translations of foreign application documents must be provided.
