Job Summary
This role involves conducting advanced research within the Theory of Electron Dynamics and Spectroscopy group at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will perform electron dynamics calculations to simulate electron transfer processes at electrode surfaces, specifically focusing on battery materials. A central part of the position is the further development of the proprietary code 'Jellyfish' using quantum algorithms and investigating the potential of quantum annealers. You will collaborate within a Helmholtz-wide consortium and present your findings at international conferences and in scientific journals. This position is ideal for researchers looking to apply quantum computing to climate-neutral technological solutions. Required Skills
Education
PhD / Doctorate in Physics, Chemistry, or a related field (Doctoral certificate or statement of planned completion required).
Experience
- Professional experience in developing and applying quantum computing algorithms
- Solid background in quantum dynamics and theoretical chemistry or physics
- Advanced proficiency in programming, specifically with C++
- Practical experience using standard quantum chemical software packages
- Experience in scientific communication and publishing in peer-reviewed journals
