Job Summary

The Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology (Leibniz IPHT) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Field-Resolved Optical Precision Metrology group in Jena. In this role, you will lead the development of next-generation ultracompact electric-field-resolved spectroscopy (FRS) instrumentation. Your daily activities will involve developing broadband, waveform-stable mid-infrared (MIR) sources, implementing FRS systems based on fiber lasers, and deploying these technologies within clinical settings, specifically at the Jena University Hospital for real-time breath analysis of critically ill patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of experimental laser physics and biomedical diagnostics, funded by an ERC Consolidator Grant. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across physics, medicine, and clinical chemistry, utilizing world-class laboratory facilities. The role is initially limited to two years with a potential for extension, offering a family-friendly environment and a salary according to TV-L regulations.
