Job Summary

This role involves the maintenance and repair of critical air traffic control equipment at the Tactical Air Force Wing 51 'Immelmann' in Hohn. As an Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for the operational readiness of military air traffic control systems, specifically the ASR-S airport surveillance radar evaluation unit and the PAR 80 precision approach radar. Your daily tasks include monitoring stationary systems, ensuring successful flight measurements, and identifying electromagnetic interference to implement mitigation strategies. You will also perform technical modifications according to TA procedures and participate in ongoing specialized training. This position is unique as it offers the opportunity for civil servant status (Verbeamtung) within the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The role requires working on-site and involves physical activity in various weather conditions and at heights, making it ideal for technically skilled professionals looking for a stable, high-responsibility environment in the defense sector.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in Electronics for Devices and Systems, IT System Electronics, Communication Electronics, or a comparable technical qualification.

Experience

  • Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, IT System Electronics Technician, Communication Electronics Technician, or a comparable field
  • Professional experience in maintenance and repair of technical equipment
  • Experience or willingness to work in challenging physical environments including heights and noise
  • Experience in monitoring and maintaining operational readiness of technical installations

Additional

  • Must be a German citizen according to Article 116 of the Basic Law. Requires a Class B driver's license and willingness to obtain a Bundeswehr driving permit. Must pass a medical examination and a Level Ü2 SabS security clearance. Age limit of 50 for civil servant status. Must be physically fit for working at heights and in adverse weather conditions.
