Job Summary
As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will hold overall technical responsibility for assigned systems and assemblies throughout the entire project lifecycle, from design to commissioning. Your daily activities will involve the constructive design, integration, and testing of electrical systems, alongside creating technical specifications for internal departments, external partners, and authorities. You will act as a vital technical liaison, leading negotiations with suppliers and collaborating with purchasing to evaluate offers based on quality and cost-effectiveness. This role is highly collaborative, requiring you to coordinate information flow across various departments and ensure contract-compliant integration according to customer requirements. What makes this position unique is the opportunity to work with a major engineering service provider on high-stakes projects, potentially within the maritime or naval sector, offering a blend of technical design, project management, and on-site commissioning responsibilities.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Communications/Information Technology, Marine Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field; alternatively, a qualification as a certified Technician.
Experience
- Professional experience in electrical or systems engineering
- Experience in constructive design, integration, and testing of technical systems
- Experience in leading technical negotiations and evaluating supplier offers
- Several years of experience in the shipbuilding or maritime industry preferred
- Experience with German Navy (Deutsche Marine) environments is an advantage
- Knowledge of naval construction regulations and standards is an advantage
