Job Summary

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a world-renowned interdisciplinary team at the Institute for Auditory Neuroscience in Göttingen. As an Electronics Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting cutting-edge neuroscience research by maintaining and calibrating complex in-vivo experimental setups. Your daily responsibilities will include configuring data acquisition systems using National Instruments hardware, prototyping custom electronic components, and managing the interface between lab hardware and workstations. You will act as a key technical consultant for international researchers, troubleshooting systems and optimizing experimental data flow. This position is ideal for a proactive technical professional who enjoys working in a collaborative 'wet lab' environment and wants to contribute to groundbreaking scientific discoveries. The role is initially offered on a two-year fixed-term contract with compensation according to the TV-L public service salary scale.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, Mechatronics Technician, or a State-Certified Technician qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience as an electronics technician, mechatronics technician, or state-certified technician
  • Practical experience with National Instruments hardware and data acquisition systems
  • Experience in hardware-to-IT integration and workstation management
  • Experience in a research or clinical environment is preferred
  • Experience with microcontroller-based solution design

Additional

  • Initial contract duration is 2 years. Position is full-time at 38.5 hours per week. Location is Göttingen, Germany. Compensation follows the TV-L public service collective agreement.
