Job Summary

This part-time position (19.5 hours per week) at the Art Collections and Museums of Augsburg focuses on the systematic documentation and preservation of cultural assets. As an Inventory Clerk, you will support the museum's administrative operations by maintaining inventory lists, managing object files, and performing digital data entry. Your daily tasks will include scanning and digitizing historical documents, conducting location checks for art objects, and taking archival photographs for documentation purposes. Additionally, you will perform basic research in specialized literature and databases to ensure the accuracy of the collection's records. This role is ideal for individuals interested in museum management and heritage conservation, offering a unique opportunity to work directly with art collections in a professional public sector environment. Required Skills

Education

Degree or current studies in Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field; or equivalent vocational training in administration/archiving.

Experience

  • Professional experience or academic background in art history, museum studies, or a related field
  • Experience in handling and documenting cultural or art objects
  • Experience in digital archiving and document management
  • Experience with administrative office tasks and database maintenance
