Job Summary
As a Senior Development Engineer for Integrally Geared Compressors (IGC), you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert driving core design development within Siemens Energy’s Compression business. Your daily responsibilities include optimizing design solutions for both new and existing products, ensuring they meet rigorous functional, aerodynamic, and manufacturability standards. You will lead cost-improvement initiatives and represent the product line at international technical conferences. This role is pivotal in maintaining market quality while innovating for emerging sectors like Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) and Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES). The position is highly attractive for its focus on decarbonization and the opportunity to influence the energy transition within a global, multicultural team. You will utilize advanced CAD tools and engineering calculations to solve complex mechanical problems, balancing technical excellence with strategic product development goals.
Required Skills
Education
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience
- 10+ years of specialized experience in integrally geared compressors
- Extensive involvement in R&D projects and product improvement initiatives
- Hands-on expertise with IGC components including pinions, bull gears, rotors, and volute casings
- Experience in leading technical review gates and presenting at international conferences
- Leadership experience in a global, multicultural environment
