Job Summary
This role as a Chemical-Technical Assistant involves supporting cutting-edge research in aroma and odor science at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg. Day-to-day tasks include comprehensive lab organization, performing classical laboratory procedures like distillations and extractions, and preparing samples for chromatographic analysis. You will manage chemical inventories using software, maintain lab equipment, and create in-house databases for mass spectrometric and sensory data. Additionally, you'll be involved in recruiting study participants, organizing sensory-analytical studies, and ensuring lab safety, including special waste disposal. The ideal candidate will have a CTA qualification or equivalent, experience in lab organization and chromatographic systems, and strong organizational and communication skills, contributing to sustainability-related research.

Completed training as a Chemical-Technical Assistant (CTA) or comparable qualification
Experience
- Professional experience in general laboratory organization
- Professional experience in performing classical laboratory work
- Expertise with chromatographic analysis systems and data evaluation software is desirable
- Knowledge of hazardous substances is desirable
- Training as a special waste officer is advantageous
- Fire protection and first aid qualifications are desirable
