Job Summary

This part-time role (20 hours per week) offers a unique opportunity to support both research and teaching within the Software Engineering department at the University of Kassel. On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for installing, developing, and testing software applications, as well as maintaining research demonstrators and the department's IT infrastructure. You will play a key role in supporting students during software engineering internships and practical exercises. The position is highly versatile, combining hands-on technical tasks like network administration and hardware procurement with academic support and organizational duties. This is a permanent position that allows for a high degree of autonomy while working within a collaborative academic environment. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification (for Technical Specialist level); or completed training as a State-Certified Technician (for Technician level).

Experience

  • Professional experience in software development and software engineering principles
  • Experience in IT administration, including computer, software, and network management
  • Experience in scientific working methods or technical problem-solving within software systems
  • Experience in organizational or administrative processes within a university setting is preferred
  • Professional background in a technical or administrative IT role is advantageous
