Job Summary

This role involves the independent development, planning, and implementation of electrical engineering projects at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). As an Operations and Project Engineer, you will be responsible for creating performance specifications, managing tender documents, and overseeing project execution through to final acceptance. You will act as a key liaison with the state building authority to ensure operator interests and technical standards are met during new constructions and renovations. A significant part of the role includes strategic operational planning, maintaining technical documentation within CAFM systems, and providing deputy leadership for a team of up to 30 employees. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys a mix of technical oversight and personnel management. The role offers a stable public service contract (TV-L), flexible working hours, home office options after initial training, and a family-friendly environment within one of Germany's leading research universities.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Science, or German Diplom-Ingenieur FH) in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the planning, commissioning, and service of technical building systems, preferably in high-tech structures.
  • Experience in technical operations management and the application or introduction of CAFM systems (e.g., FAMOS).
  • Initial leadership experience is desirable for deputy management functions.
  • Proven experience in project monitoring and independent project realization within electrical engineering.
