PhD Student in Quantum Algorithms for Fluid Dynamics Modelling | PhD Student (f/m/d) in Quantum Algorithms for Droplet and Bubble Oscillation Dynamics Modelling
HELMHOLTZ-ZENTRUM DRESD EN-ROSSENDORF E.V.
Job Summary
This PhD position at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) offers a unique opportunity to conduct research at the intersection of quantum computing and fluid dynamics. As a doctoral researcher, you will develop and implement numerical methods for simulating fluid-dynamical or environmental systems, specifically focusing on droplet and bubble oscillation dynamics. Your day-to-day work involves researching quantum and hybrid quantum–classical algorithms to solve complex partial differential equations. You will be responsible for testing and benchmarking these computational methods on both high-performance computing (HPC) and quantum computing platforms. This role is highly collaborative, bridging the Department of AI4Quantum and the Institute of Fluid Dynamics. It is an ideal position for candidates looking to contribute to cutting-edge scientific publications while mastering data-intensive digital systems research in a diverse, international environment with over 70 nations represented.
