Job Summary
This role involves the comprehensive management and support of specialized IT applications and systems for a leading municipal infrastructure provider in Chemnitz and Southern Saxony. As an IT Application Support Specialist, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of software assets, including installation, regular updates, and ongoing administration. You will serve as the primary point of contact for colleagues regarding technical queries and system malfunctions, performing root-cause analysis and error resolution. A significant portion of the role focuses on database management, where you will execute complex data migrations and manipulations using PostgreSQL and Oracle databases. Furthermore, you will contribute to the implementation of new systems by developing customizing concepts and technical specifications. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in Information Technology, supplemented by a Master Craftsman (Meister) or Technician (Techniker) degree in a relevant field.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT application support and system administration
- Proven experience in handling relational databases and SQL queries
- Experience in data manipulation at the database level
- Experience in creating technical documentation and internal work instructions
- Experience in implementing new IT systems and developing customizing concepts
