Job Summary
As an IT Specialist for a leading municipal infrastructure provider in Chemnitz and Southern Saxony, you will be responsible for the end-to-end support of department-specific IT applications and systems. Your daily activities include installing, updating, and managing systems, while serving as the primary point of contact for employees regarding technical issues and troubleshooting. You will play a key role in implementing new systems, developing customizing concepts, and formulating technical specifications for IT adjustments. A significant portion of the role involves performing complex data migrations and manipulations within PostgreSQL and Oracle databases, as well as developing and optimizing SQL queries for reporting. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working at the intersection of system administration and database management. The role offers a collaborative environment with modern benefits like flexible working hours and home office options, initially for a fixed term of three years.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in Information Technology, supplemented by a Master Craftsman (Meister) or Technician (Techniker) degree in a relevant field.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT application support and system administration
- Proven experience in handling relational databases and performing data manipulation
- Experience in the implementation of new IT systems and creating customizing concepts
- Experience working with GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
