Job Summary
This role involves the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of telecommunications systems and network infrastructure at the University of Wuppertal. As part of the Digitalization in Building Management department, you will be responsible for network administration, system support, and the monitoring of communications technology. Day-to-day tasks include technical project execution, troubleshooting, and participation in an on-call service rotation. The position offers a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic, research-oriented campus environment, collaborating closely with IT and building technology departments. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Information and Telecommunications Technology, IT Systems Electronics Technician, IT Specialist for System Integration/Application Development, Communication Electronics Technician, or a comparable qualification in telecommunications, network, or systems engineering.
Experience
- Professional experience in the installation and maintenance of complex telecommunications and data networks
- Practical experience in network cabling and technical measurement
- Experience in independent troubleshooting and system diagnosis
- Experience working with technical management or ticket systems
- Experience in coordinating with IT and building technology departments
Languages
Additional
- Participation in on-call duty (Rufbereitschaft) is required. Must be eligible to work in Germany (permanent contract offered).
