Job Summary
This position is a Research Associate role within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Safety Engineering at the University of Wuppertal, specifically focused on a research project regarding the additive manufacturing of ceramics. You will be responsible for the independent processing of a sub-project involving process and material development for binder-based additive manufacturing. Key day-to-day activities include optimizing feedstock properties, refining printing parameters, and managing heat treatments. You will also perform comprehensive material analyses, maintain laboratory equipment, and document scientific results for presentation. This role is ideal for candidates interested in pursuing further scientific qualifications (such as a PhD) within a dynamic research environment. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Material Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemistry completed with very good results.
Experience
- Professional experience in material science research or inorganic material manufacturing
- Experience with heat treatment and sintering of inorganic materials
- Practical experience in handling complex laboratory equipment and technical systems
- Proven track record in scientific documentation and presentation of research results
