Job Summary

As a Development Engineer at Brunel, you will spearhead the creation of complex seat belt restraint systems, including vehicle-fixed systems and integrated seat belts. Your daily responsibilities involve coordinating with system suppliers from concept to series production, conducting static and dynamic component testing, and supporting occupant protection simulations using FEM calculations (LS-DYNA). You will play a critical role in defining testing protocols for partial and full-vehicle trials while ensuring strict adherence to international safety laws, quality standards, and cost targets. This position is particularly attractive due to its cross-industry exposure, offering the stability of a permanent contract under a collective agreement, 30 days of vacation, and flexible remote work options. You will act as a key liaison between project modules and suppliers, ensuring that safety innovations meet both internal module strategies and global rating requirements.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Vehicle Systems, Information Technology, Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Technical Business Administration, or Aerospace Engineering.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the component development of seat belt systems
  • Extensive experience in vehicle safety, specifically the analysis and optimization of restraint systems
  • Professional experience with global vehicle safety requirements, laws, and ratings
  • Experience in project work and international supplier coordination
  • Experience with component, system, and vehicle development processes in the passenger car (PKW) sector
