Job Summary

As an IT Support Specialist at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, you will serve as the primary point of contact for university-wide IT inquiries within the Service Center for Computer Systems and Communication (SCC). Your daily responsibilities include managing the ticket system to prioritize and resolve hardware, software, account, and network issues. You will provide first-level support, facilitate communication between users and second-level technicians, and assist with identity management and documentation. Beyond troubleshooting, you will play a key role in onboarding new users to university systems and contributing to the internal knowledge base. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in an IT-related or commercial field (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration, IT Systems Clerk) or several years of relevant professional experience in the IT sector.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT support, preferably within a university or higher education context
  • Experience in managing user requests via telephone, email, and in-person interactions
  • Proven track record of independent, structured, and team-oriented work
  • Experience in identity management and documentation processes

Additional

  • The position is initially limited to a 2-year fixed-term contract. It is a part-time role consisting of 30 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work in Weimar, though up to 50% telework is permitted.
