Job Summary
As an Environmental Compliance Officer at the State Office for Environment (LfU) in Schwedt, you will play a vital role in protecting Brandenburg's natural landscape. Your primary responsibility involves monitoring industrial facilities that require permits, specifically those focused on the treatment and storage of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. On a daily basis, you will conduct on-site inspections, review expert reports, and draft technical statements regarding emission control, air quality, and noise protection. Working in both the office and the field, you will utilize administrative law instruments to ensure all operations remain legally compliant. This position is ideal for professionals who value environmental sustainability and want to work in a structured, public-sector environment. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor, Diploma, or equivalent) in Environmental Engineering, Waste Management, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical/natural science field; or qualification for the higher technical service in environmental administration.
Experience
- Professional experience in technical engineering, environmental technology, or process engineering
- Experience in the application of environmental and waste legislation and regulations
- Practical experience in facility monitoring or technical environmental protection
- Experience in managing conflict situations and working independently
- Proven experience in driving and operating service vehicles
Languages
Additional
- Valid driver's license (Class B) with practical driving experience is mandatory. For degrees obtained outside of Germany, a ZAB evaluation or ANABIN excerpt is required. The role involves both office-based work and field-based inspections.
