Job Summary

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and supporting advanced data pipelines and databases within a global Azure/Databricks Data & Analytics platform. You will work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment alongside data scientists, cloud engineers, and reporting consultants to deliver stable yet innovative data solutions. Your day-to-day involves managing a comprehensive Data Lake House, coding advanced data processing solutions, and acting as a technical liaison to the Architecture Team to ensure alignment with organizational standards. Beyond technical execution, you will serve as a technical mentor for mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and feedback. This position is particularly attractive for its global project scope and the opportunity to work with a modern, cloud-native tech stack at a world-renowned consumer goods company. You will balance hands-on development with technology scouting to evaluate emerging trends that drive business value.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering).

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Software Development within cloud-native environments
  • Deep operational expertise across the Azure ecosystem and serverless integration services
  • Proven experience with Python and PySpark at an expert level
  • Experience with compiled or typed languages such as Scala, Java, or Go
  • Demonstrated capability in technology scouting and evaluating emerging technical trends
  • Experience with streaming architectures and multi-cloud environments (AWS/GCP)
  • Experience in technical mentoring of engineering staff
