Job Summary

This full-time, permanent position at the Brandenburg State Office for Monument Preservation and State Archaeological Museum (BLDAM) focuses on the scientific analysis and research of botanical macro-remains from archaeological excavations. Based in Zossen-Wünsdorf, the successful candidate will be responsible for recording, inventorying, and researching archaeobotanical finds, as well as managing the comparative collection and professional databases. The role involves significant interdisciplinary collaboration, including advising on excavation projects, supervising students, and securing research funding. Beyond laboratory work, you will communicate findings through academic publications and public exhibitions. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Biology or Archaeology with a specialization in Archaeobotany; PhD or equivalent scientific achievement required.

Experience

  • Proven track record of academic achievement (PhD or equivalent scientific performance)
  • Experience participating in archaeological monument preservation measures and excavations
  • Experience in IT-supported recording of scientific data and database handling
  • Experience in organizing scientific conferences and workshops
