Job Summary

As the Head of Information Security Management (CISO Topic Area Management), you will lead a highly specialized team of security experts responsible for the second line of defense within Germany's primary digitalization partner for the Federal Armed Forces. Your daily responsibilities involve overseeing the implementation of corporate-wide security governance, including methodologies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements. You will act as a key disciplinary leader, ensuring that security concepts for infrastructure, cloud, and AI architectures are rigorously tested and approved. This role is unique due to its direct proximity to executive management and its critical contribution to Germany's national security. You will be tasked with strategic team development, risk analysis steering, and representing security-relevant topics at the executive level. The position offers a high degree of professional impact within one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Germany, balancing rigorous security standards with modern technological advancement.

Required Skills

Education

Completed relevant university degree in a technical field or a comparable qualification; security certifications are ideal.

Experience

  • At least 6 years of professional experience in the IT industry or information security
  • Multiple years of disciplinary leadership experience, preferably leading highly specialized technical experts
  • Deep experience in IT security domains such as infrastructure, cloud, or application security
  • Proven experience with security standards and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, BSI, or Zero Trust)
  • Experience in the defense sector is desirable
  • Experience in analyzing and securing complex, networked IT processes and system landscapes
