Job Summary

As an Offshore Service Technician specializing in Electrical Engineering, you will play a critical role in maintaining the stability of the power grid connecting the North Sea to the Alps. Your daily responsibilities include participating in quality inspections and acceptance tests at shipyards and supplier sites, as well as on offshore converter platforms. You will oversee the commissioning of complex electrical systems such as switchgear, transformers, and circuit breakers. A key part of the role involves taking on plant responsibility, performing switching operations, and coordinating maintenance campaigns with external service providers. This position is unique for its blend of high-level technical responsibility and the adventurous nature of offshore work. You will be at the forefront of the energy transition, ensuring the reliability of climate-friendly energy systems through meticulous documentation and participation in specialized offshore emergency and operational roles.

Required Skills

Education

State-certified Technician (Staatlich geprüfter Techniker), Master Craftsman (Meister) in Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Relevant professional experience in (maritime) operational and electrical engineering, focusing on primary or secondary technical systems
  • Professional experience in the maintenance of offshore platforms is desirable
  • Experience in conducting acceptance tests and quality controls at shipyards or supplier locations
  • Experience in commissioning electrical components such as switchgear and transformers

Additional

  • Class B driver's license required. High willingness to travel internationally and participate in offshore deployments. Medical fitness for offshore work (G41/G35) or willingness to obtain it. Participation in on-call standby service is mandatory.
