Job Summary

This leadership role involves managing the entire administrative operations for the Catholic parish communities within the Münster North-West pastoral region. You will serve as the primary administrative lead, overseeing all non-pastoral personnel including parish secretaries, church musicians, sextons, caretakers, and cleaning staff. A core part of the role is relieving senior pastors of operational administrative burdens by taking responsibility for financial management, human resources, and property maintenance. You will act as a strategic advisor to church boards regarding budgeting, accounting, and investment measures. This position is particularly unique as it offers the opportunity to actively shape and define a new job profile during a period of significant organizational change. The role is based in Münster and offers a high degree of autonomy, requiring a professional who can navigate complex ecclesiastical structures while ensuring efficient, results-oriented administrative outcomes for the local church community.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (FH/Bachelor) in Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification such as the Higher Administrative Service (Verwaltungslehrgang II or Diploma in Administration).

Experience

  • Professional experience in the field of finance, specifically in Cameralistic accounting or New Municipal Finance (NKF)
  • Extensive leadership experience with the ability to manage diverse teams
  • Proven experience in managing organizational change processes
  • Experience working with committees and boards, preferably within church or public structures
  • Professional background in public or business administration
