Postdoctoral Researcher in Material and Surface Analysis | Postdoc für Material- und Oberflächenanalyse (26032)
Bergische Universität Wuppertal
Job Summary
This postdoctoral position at the University of Wuppertal offers a specialized role within the Faculty of Electrical, Information, and Media Engineering. The successful candidate will take a lead role in the operation and scientific advancement of complex Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV) chamber systems. A primary focus of the role involves the technical re-establishment and commissioning of a multi-chamber UHV facility following a laboratory relocation, requiring precise calibration and performance evaluation. Day-to-day responsibilities include the production of semiconductor thin films using vapor deposition and characterizing these samples through advanced methods such as photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction. This role is ideal for a researcher who enjoys the intersection of hands-on technical system optimization and high-level scientific analysis. The position is attractive for its international research environment, flexible working conditions, and the opportunity to lead significant laboratory infrastructure projects while contributing to high-impact scientific publications.
